Tips for Call of Duty 4 for Xbox 360

If you own an Xbox 360 and you subscribe to Xbox Live you might've heard about Call of Duty 4. It's a great game that's perfect for those who enjoy combat games catering to players who appreciate realism over arcade style action of games like Halo.

For the purposes of this article, I am going to assume that you've played Call of Duty 4. If you haven't my 5 tips may not make much sense. I'll be producing another article soon that covers the game itself, but for now lets get on to those tips for multiplayer mode over Xbox Live, shall we?

Tip #1 - Use the terrain! Remember, never put yourself in the open unless you absolutely must for any longer than you need to. CoD4 operates on the basic principle that "if I can see you, I can shoot you." Keep walls to your back and if you can use the surrounding vegetation to your advantage, definitely do so. I've avoided many kills by concealing myself in bushes, you'll generally blend right in.

Tip #2 - When an enemy seems to be hiding in a room, employ your grenades. You'd be amazed at how many times I've witness other players go charging into a room in pursuit of an enemy, only to get mowed right down. Don't risk it, toss in a grenade and move on to an easier target.

Tip #3 - If you're using one of the Assault Rifles, I highly recommend the Grenade Launcher attachment. It's extremely handy and though it's not exceptionally accurate at long range, it can quickly score you enough kills to raise your rank and it's got so much force that it kills on impact if you get a head shot before it ever explodes. Remember, if you get multiple kills at once, you get a multiple SCORES at once!

Tip #4 - Let higher ranking players be your guides. When you play online, particularly in team matches such as Ground War or Domination modes, watch those high ranking players. You can use those tricks they're using, too. By closely watching my teammates, I picked up several useful skills I'd have taken forever to learn the hard way - such as Tip #3.

Tip #5 - Don't forget you can switch weapons on the battlefield! That's right, if you run low on ammo find a weapon that's been dropped and hold X to pick it up. Often times, if you're a beginning level player, you can pick up a far nicer weapon than what the game gives you at the start. Pay attention to what's out there because you just might find a highly advanced firearm sitting right out in the open!

So those are my first five tips for Call of Duty 4 on the Xbox 360. I hope you're able to use them and I want to encourage you to keep at it because practice does indeed pay off. Those first levels can be very difficult, but once you get the hang of the controls you'll get better much faster and have a blast playing with your friends!

Thanks for reading my article, also. If you like it, feel free to show your friends or bookmark it. I hope it helps you get to your next rank!
